1. Project Scope:
a. The goal is to train all teachers to be proficient in adding information into SWIS.
b. All teachers and administration at Palmdale High School will receive the training.
c. The complete training will take about a month to complete. The analysis of time has already been completed.
Objectives should be completed as well in this document. Material development should be done in the next week. Run through of the entire process will round out the month.
2. Delivery:
a. The content will be based on the reasons for adding the information into SWIS as well as the basics of the SWIS system itself. It will finish with a hands-on demonstration of the process including data entry, edit, and removal.
b. The core delivery will be approximately one hour in the classroom taught by a person who is experienced with the process of using SWIS. The demonstrators will be drawn from those who are members of the PBIS team at Palmdale High School. The SME will help to answer questions that arise in the training session. The delivery will be proceeded by an informal assessment for those that already use SWIS entries on a regular basis. Following the training, we will check to see how many of the people are using SWIS to log interventions. That list will be forwarded to admin who may take actions for the people not participating in the log entry process.
c. The training will take place in August during the in-service days prior to the school year beginning.
d. A problem that usually arises is what do we do with those teachers who come later than the in-service days? We’ll have to have a team member quickly train them as they start work. Another problem is what about those teachers who don’t come to the in-service or are otherwise unable to be at the training? Well, those teachers can also avail themselves of the supplemental training.
3. Objectives:
a. Program: At the end of the training 80% of the teachers will log at least 50% of the interventions that they use in class.
b. Supporting: Teachers will be able to list three reasons why they need to log interventions. Teachers will demonstrate proficiency in adding entries, editing entries, and deleting entries into SWIS
4. Training Materials:
a. A PowerPoint that shows all the steps in the process of adding, editing, and deleting interventions.
b. A facilitator guide for the classroom portion
